“ Wow. - I changed my driving route due to the reviews of this restaurant & definitely worth it!! Melt in your mouth burger - green chili Great & welcoming service - thank you!! ”
“ Stayed overnight at Tumbleweeds Diner through Harvest Hosts while heading toward White Sands, and I’m glad I stopped. What I didn’t realize until I got there was that the VLA (Very Large Array) is just 20 minutes away. I’m a big space and science nerd, so getting to see those massive dishes moving in real time was surreal. If you’re in the area, it’s worth making time for a visit. The parking lot is dirt, so I wouldn’t recommend trying this location in bad winter weather or during heavy rain. I arrived after hours, and there were no gates, codes, or staff on site. Just a peaceful, no-pressure vibe. You pick your spot and settle in. One other camper van was there, and there’s one picnic table available if you get to it first. I only stayed one night, which was the limit from what I understood, but honestly, I would have loved to stay an extra night just to spend more time at the VLA. Before leaving town, I made sure to eat at the diner itself, and it was awesome. The place is nicely decorated, with plenty of local souvenirs and a laid-back, welcoming feel. The staff was incredibly friendly, the prices were great, and the food was top-notch. I ordered the hot chicken sandwich, and it hit the spot. Check out my photos. I took quite a few, including drone shots of the surrounding area. This was a peaceful, easy stop with good food and access to one of the most impressive science sites in the country. If you're road-tripping through New Mexico, especially as a Harvest Host member, I definitely recommend this place. Side note: I’ve submitted nearly 600 reviews, and my photos and videos have over 18 million views on Google Maps. If this helped, give me a follow. It’s always appreciated! ”

“ After trudging hours and hours driving thru the food deserts of New Mexico - full of green chili this, green chili that, green chili EVERYTHING. I stumbled across a truely hidden gem nestled inside the Cibola National Forest in a quaint mountain top village. Not only does this place serve some of the greatest food for the next 100 miles, the atmosphere and the proprietors make the experience unforgettable! Scratch made food with high quality ingredients served with the warmest of smiles. Tumbleweeds is the quintessential American dream story. Two immigrants that saw a diamond in the rough, rolled up their sleeves, and have created a thriving community hub. They source from local farmers, they showcase the best of Native American artists from the neighbouring rez, and Osiris (BIPOC owner) has reunited countless doggos with their families. This place is dog and donk friendly! This isn’t your everyday side of the road green chili hotdog stands, this aint even just a small town diner, this is a true American success story. Y’all have to stop and try everything on the menu. ”

“ Finally made the drive to Magdalena to have lunch at Tumbleweeds Diner and are so happy we did! The drive was beautiful and we were so excited to drive up to the building we’ve only been seeing on social media. Every detail has been thoughtfully tended to - the dining area is warm and inviting. The owners and staff members were friendly and attentive without being overbearing and the food was fantastic. We both had burgers which you could tell were fresh, ground in house and cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back and if you’re wondering if it’s worth the drive - absolutely! There were many of us there today who’d made the day trip from Albuquerque!!! ”
